Data Deletion

Effective date and last updated:

This page explains how users and businesses can ask Urbay Connect to delete their account and data, including information received through WhatsApp (Meta) and Google Calendar connections.

1. How to request deletion

  • Send an email to ray@urbayconnect.com from the email address associated with your Urbay Connect account.
  • Use the subject “Data deletion request”.
  • Say what you want deleted: your user account, your business account and all of its data, or specific information (for example a WhatsApp connection or a customer record).

We will confirm that we received your request, verify that it comes from the account holder or a person authorized by the business, and tell you when the deletion is complete.

If you are a customer or lead of a business that uses Urbay Connect, you can contact that business directly or write to us at the same address; we will help the business respond.

2. What is deleted

When a business account is closed at its request, we delete or anonymize the information associated with it, including:

  • user accounts and profiles of the business’s team members;
  • customers, leads, deals, notes, follow-ups, appointments, sales and the change history of those records;
  • WhatsApp and SMS conversations and message metadata, and the identifiers and encrypted access tokens of connected WhatsApp Business numbers;
  • Google Calendar connection details and their encrypted tokens;
  • the business profile, logo and settings.

A request to delete a single user account removes that user’s profile and access. Records the user created for the business (such as customers and deals) belong to the business and remain with it unless the business asks for them to be deleted.

3. When it happens

We complete the deletion within a reasonable period after verifying the request, as described in the Data retention section of our Privacy Policy. We may keep information when we must do so to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. Raw webhook events received from messaging providers are deleted automatically after 30 days, and database backups expire after a limited period.

4. Disconnecting WhatsApp, lead sources and Google Calendar

You can remove Urbay Connect’s access to connected services at any time, without writing to us:

  • WhatsApp: an owner or administrator of the business opens Settings › Connections (Ajustes › Conexiones) in Urbay Connect and disconnects the number. Urbay Connect deletes the stored access token for that number, stops receiving and sending messages through it, and removes its subscription to the WhatsApp Business Account when no other connected number uses it. Conversation history already received stays with the business until it is deleted as described above. Access can also be removed from Meta’s side (Meta Business Suite › Business settings); Urbay Connect then marks the number as disconnected.
  • Facebook and Instagram lead ads: an owner or administrator opens Settings › Connections (Ajustes › Conexiones) › Lead sources and disconnects the Facebook Page. Urbay Connect deletes the stored Page access token, stops receiving that Page’s leads and asks Meta to remove its subscription to the Page. Leads already received stay with the business until they are deleted as described above. Other lead sources can be turned off in the same place.
  • Google Calendar: the user opens Settings › Connections (Ajustes › Conexiones) and disconnects Google Calendar. Urbay Connect asks Google to revoke its access and deletes the stored tokens. Events already sent to Google Calendar remain in the user’s calendar.
